Star wars lands at Disney
The wait is over for many Star Wars fans, as Disney has finally announced the opening date for Star Wars land Disneyland. Prepare to take flight on May 31, 2019 to visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Southern California!
Star Wars Land Disneyland
This new Star Wars expansion in the Disneyland Resort promises to be a truly immersive experience for guests, and my partners at Get Away Today are here to share some exclusive details about what to expect. Keep reading to learn more about the reservation requirements, the attractions and more at Star Wars land Disneyland, opening May 31, 2019.
Star Wars Land Disneyland - Galaxy’s Edge Reservations
In addition to having valid Disneyland Resort admission, guests who want to visit Galaxy’s Edge between May 31 and June 23, 2019 will need to make advance reservations that will be no additional cost. Details on how that process will go has not yet been released, but it is anticipated these reservations will help with the increase in crowd volume during the first few weeks. One way to guarantee reservations during this time period is to book a vacation package and stay at one of the three Disneyland Resort Hotels. Guests who stay at one of these properties between May 31 and June 23, 2019 will be granted reservations for Galaxy’s Edge with their valid Disneyland tickets.
Star Wars Land Disneyland - Galaxy’s Edge Attractions
There are two new attractions opening in Galaxy’s Edge, with one launching on May 31 when Star Wars land Disneyland opens. Look for Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run to be operational right away, while we all hope to see Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance open later in 2019. As of now, Disney will not be including the Galaxy’s Edge rides in the FastPass system, but will closely monitor the new rides to ensure guests have the best experiences possible. We’re hopeful they will someday be available with FastPass and MaxPass.
Star Wars Land Disneyland - Galaxy’s Edge Docking Bay 7
Since experiencing new foods is an integral part of travel, it’s so exciting that in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge there will be cuisine that is authentic to the Star Wars saga. Galaxy’s Edge is found on the planet Batuu, at the very last Outpost stop in the galaxy. Food outposts will include the following:
Oga’s Cantina is a place to enjoy refreshments in a family friendly atmosphere. The menu will mainly feature drinks such as blue milk and alcoholic offerings with bar snacks. Entertainment will be in the form of droid DJ R-3X spinning tracks in the Cantina.
Tuggs’ Grub, an intergalactic version of a food truck, has landed at Docking Bay 7 to provide the main source of food in Galaxy’s Edge. Since Maz Kanata’s castle was destroyed by the First Order, Chef “Cookie” Tuggs has set up shop in his traveling diner to offer exotic dishes like braised Shaak roast, Endorian tip-yip (a chicken dish), Ithorian garden loaf (a vegetarian dish), Kaddu (pork) ribs and Burra fish.
Ronto Roasters offers fire roasted meats cooked to perfection under the supervision of droid 8D-J8.
The Milk Stand will bring real flavor to Star Wars’ blue and green milks from Bubo Wamba Family Farms. Blue milk will be a berry flavored smoothie, while green milk will be tropical. The milk itself is actually non-dairy so it’s a good option for many guests of Galaxy’s Edge.
Kat Saka’s Kettle is the stop in Star Wars land Disneyland for a popcorn snack. Try the mix of sweet, savory and spicy popcorn at this outpost.
